Jordan Wood, an eighth-grade Girl Scout in Exton, PA, recently received the Silver Award for serving seniors at Arbor Terrace Exton.
After speaking to her aunt, Cindy Arrowood, a pet therapy volunteer at Arbor Terrace, Jordan realized the residents could benefit from having a dedicated space for their pet therapy supplies. She then set out to build a special cabinet for the senior living community. After working for three months with some help from her father, a structural engineer, Jordan built a beautiful and convenient space for the residents and volunteers at Arbor Terrace Exton to store their supplies.
Jordan believes that anyone can make a difference at any age. “In your community, you can always just make simple decisions that could mean the world to somebody else, and that could just make them so much happier for that day. That's just a good feeling," she said.
