We’re thrilled to celebrate Gwene Komene, Medicine Technician at Arbor Terrace Hamilton Mill, who received the Hero of Excellence Award for Direct Care Staff at this year’s Georgia Senior Living Association (GSLA) annual gala!
With over 325 nominations from senior living communities across the state, Gwene stood out for her unwavering dedication, compassion, and leadership. She’s been with Arbor Terrace Hamilton Mill since 2017 and has long been recognized as a role model by her peers, residents, and families.
One remarkable example of her service came when she stayed with a resident’s daughter—an only child—as her mother was transitioning. The daughter shared she wouldn’t have been able to cope without Gwen’s support.
“Gwen is our Arbor HERO every day,” her team shared. “She helps with any shift or neighborhood needed and lifts up those around her with humility and grace.”
