While The Arbor Company always offered fitness courses and equipment to residents, after noticing trends in senior health and wellness, the program was recently expanded to include certified fitness trainers along with AI-powered equipment. This program has been recognized among the best, placing bronze in the Resident Engagement and Recreation category of the McKnight’s Tech Awards.
The McKnight’s Tech Awards identify senior living, skilled nursing and home care operators that are working alongside technology providers to offer innovative, cutting-edge programs to residents to demonstrate innovative ways technology can be used to improve resident care.
Since the implementation of the award-winning program, Arbor communities have seen a significant result in multiple areas, including:
- 32% increase in resident participation
- Decrease in UTIs due to consistent exercise and increased hydration
- Increase in flexibility and mobility
- Lowered blood pressure
- Increased resident weight loss
“Being recognized for these results is a great honor for The Arbor Company and highlights our commitment to serving our residents,” said Kris Frankel, VP of Engagement and Director of Active Aging. “Our primary goal is to help them experience a meaningful and healthy life while residing in an Arbor community, which makes this award truly exciting.”
